This collection is the cultivation of 8 years of file-sharing evolution. Beginning with a few CD rips shared on slsk in 2006 and slowly adding an album at a time, this is today the 4th generation torrent upload. The last version of this collection I uploaded to Demonoid in 2011, and in addition to that torrent now includes: '2-Disk Kaya Set', '3-Disk Special Tin Set', and the '6-Disk Upsetter Collection'. The 'Chant Down Babylon' album features remixes by modern artists, and among the few loose tracks included at the end is the live 'No Woman, No Cry' that we are all familiar with, yet it is nearly 3 minutes longer than the edited recording featured on the 'Legend' compilation album.
Please share and enjoy : )

It contains all ten of Marley's Top 40 hit singles in the UK up to the time, plus three songs from the original Wailers with Peter Tosh and Bunny Livingston in "Stir It Up," "I Shot the Sheriff," and "Get Up, Stand Up," along with the closing song from the album Uprising, "Redemption Song." Marley enjoyed fewer chart hits in the United States, "Exodus," "Waiting in Vain," "Could You Be Loved" and "Buffalo Soldier" the only ones included on this collection. Of the original tracks, only four date from prior to the Exodus album.
The cassette tape release of the album featured two extra songs, "Punky Reggae Party," the b-side to the "Jamming" single, and "Easy Skanking" from the Kaya album. A second generation compact disc remastered by Barry Diament appeared in 1990 on the Tuff Gong label. Although the disc includes the same 14 songs, the tracks are in their original album lengths rather than the edited versions for single release.
On February 12, 2002, the expanded 14-track edition with songs at album lengths were remastered for compact disc with a bonus disc consisting of 1984-vintage remixes for extended dance club singles and dub versions. In 2004, the Legend double-disc deluxe edition was reissued with the music DVD of the same name in the sound + vision deluxe edition. In 2010, Legend was made available as downloadable content for Rock Band. However, it was released without "Get Up, Stand Up", which was later included on Rock Band 3. In June 2012, a high fidelity audiophile version of the album was released on HDtracks.com in 24 bit / 96,000khz and 24 bit / 192,000khz resolutions.

Originally released in 1984, Bob Marley's LEGEND illustrates the remarkable life and recording career of one of reggae music's most important figures. This iconic collection not only serves as the perfect introduction to the music of Bob Marley, it has become an essential part in every Marley collection. It remains the world's best-selling reggae album and continues to be one of the best-selling catalog albums, exceeding 15 copies in the U.S. alone and over 27 million worldwide.
Coupled with the original release of LEGEND on CD, this deluxe version features this iconic collection entirely mixed in 5.1 by the GRAMMY® Award winning producer Bob Clearmountain on Blu-Ray Pure Audio Disc™ and now includes the original, early studio version of 'No Woman No Cry,' in lieu of the previous live version. Also featured are two, previously unheard alternate takes of 'Easy Skanking' and 'Punky Reggae Party' recently discovered in the Marley vault. Classic Marley anthems include 'Three Little Birds,' 'Get Up Stand Up,' 'One Love/People Get Ready,' 'No Woman No Cry' and 'I Shot The Sheriff,' which was later a No. 1 hit for Eric Clapton, as well as 'Jamming,' 'Exodus,' 'Redemption Song' and 'Is This Love.'

An amazing but true story about an experimental dub session organized
by BOB MARLEY in Jamaica in 1979!!!
In 1979 during a visit to Japan, Bob Marley met the
acclaimed Japanese percussionist Pecker. Pecker, a big fan of reggae,
convinced Marley to bring top Japanese musicians
(mostly members of The Yellow Magic Orchestra) to Jamaica to mix it up
with the cream of Jamaican reggae artists, to jam and play out in informal
dub sessions at both Channel One and Tuff Gong Studios. The astounding results
were released only in Japan on two separate LP's in 1980.
